Your questions answered
Reservations and Bookings
We welcome enquiries, reservations and
bookings by mail, telephone or on-line. We’ll be pleased to send you a
copy of our latest brochure and booking form. Payments may be tendered
in cash,
by cheque, credit card or Paypal. Our expert staff are always pleased
to help. Once you have chosen your tour, simply call us or complete the
form on behalf of yourself and any other members of your proposed
party. Send it to us at the address on the contact page and we will
reply immediately. A ten per cent deposit is requested upon booking -
the balance to be paid before departure. Full details will be given on
your confirmation document.
Hotel
Accommodation
The cost of your tour is based on shared
twin or double rooms with private en suite facilities. Single rooms (of
equal quality) are available on request.
The hotel’s standard ‘single supplement’ will be passed on to the
client. If you are travelling alone and wish to avoid the single
supplement by sharing with another traveller, you may indicate this on
the booking form.
Passports
Please note that all travellers must be
in possession of a valid passport. The names and initials given on your
booking form should correspond with the details recorded on each
passport.
European
Health Insurance Card
Travellers are advised
to acquire a valid European Health Insurance Card
(EHIC) from the Department of Health. You can apply on-line
at the departmental website or phone 0845 606 2030. Application forms
are also available from your local Post Office.
Check-in
and Departure times
Check-in and Departure times from Hull
and Zeebrugge are determined by the ferry companies and port
authorities. Independent travellers who wish to join the minibus at
Hull are advised to adhere to the timings that we supply in our
confirmation documents.
Those travelling with us from Edinburgh are advised that assembly and
departure times are not flexible and that in the interests of your
fellow travellers it will be necessary to leave at the appointed hour.
Refunds will be offered to latecomers only in the most extenuating
circumstances.
A series of convenient pick-up points are available along the route
from Edinburgh to Hull. Depending upon the location of travellers, we
will also undertake to collect you at (or close to) your door. Our
staff will be pleased to discuss your individual requirements at the
time of booking. On returning to the UK we will (of course) drop you
off at the most convenient spot.
France
and Belgium : visiting a particular location
Because of the intimate nature of Somewhere in France tours, it will be
possible to satisfy the wishes of individual travellers to visit a
particular grave, memorial or other location. Again we will be pleased
to discuss this with you at the time of booking, so that any necessary research can be carried out before
departure. Space for these requests
is included on the booking form.
